Amiga History

Never owned an Amiga back in the day but was fortunate enough to be able to use my brothers A500+ then he got an A1200. A few years ago he gifted me his A1200 and that’s now the pride of my collection. So many nostalgic memories of using it.

What Does The Hobby Mean To Me?

The Amiga has the biggest nostalgia kick for me, if I want to be transported back to my childhood I just fire up an Amiga.

Also the social aspect of our group meets have been fantastic. I’ve met some really great people who I can say are good friends now, who I most likely would never have crossed paths with, even from my own village!

Projects

Currently working on my recently acquired A2000, I never thought I’d own a big box Amiga so this has been a joy to explore and upgrade. Looking to install a CD/DVD drive before Kickstart!

My Amiga Systems

  • A600 - 1MB trap door chip RAM, SD card HDD, working floppy drive for nostalgic disk swapping.
  • A1200 - ACA1232 accelerator (68030 + 128MB RAM), SD card HDD, Gotek with breakout box.
  • A2000 - TF536 accelerator (68030 + 64MB RAM), SD card HDD, working floppy, Gotek, AT-Bus Clone Zorro II IDE Card with DVD drive attached (if I can get it installed before kickstart!).
